I, unsurprisingly, am not an A.I person. As a lifelong sci-fi and action movie fan, I’ve seen where this goes way too many times to be excited about a A.I future. As a believer in art and expression, I’m not a huge fan of what I’ve seen already either.
*shakes fist in old*
Regardless of that, it’s been cool to watch business owners respond to the A.I question with enthusiasm and savvy, building new products and shortcuts with chat gdp. I love folks are being helped by it and having lots of fun with the new technology.
While I am very much like “omg our tech overlords will kill us” it’s not all bad.
The A.I revolution will ultimately lead to another personal branding revolution and branding is my FAVORITE.
The last few years have been all about expert positioning and more straightforward “teacher” branding. Teachers are less flashy in the way they were in the early and mid 2010s and more info-based. While there are a few lifestyle glamorous Marie Forleo style business owners, it’s not as common. People just want big number promises these days. You don’t get as much personal branding, at least within online business.
Branding is HUGE everywhere else, but that’s a story for another day.
But with AI, information is everywhere and readily accessible. You can do pretty much anything or learn anything. You can even get A.I to recreate headshots for you.
It’s scary out there for artists, creators, and sellers of things. The only way to survive the slow A.Iification (is that a word) of society is to go old school.

What is your main character energy type?
I created main character energy types as another brand shorthand (much like brand chemistry types) for helping my clients get in touch with what makes them super attractive to people and where they should lean in with their time and energy. It’s a product of being in the TikTok and podcast communities and seeing how things work and the success I’ve had and seen my friends have.
Success right now is less about what you do but how you do it. Successful businesses, influencers, and creators provide a unique experience. The experience is so unique that it doesn’t matter what they do.
This becomes even more important in the AI era because another big part of surviving in this era is building a relationship with your audience that provides stability as AI changes and evolves things.
Here are the types below. I usually asses my clients before I chat with them to help them figure out what their types are, but you can look at these descriptions and see what feels true for you.
Main Character Energy Types
Nostalgia: People love you because you remind them of a specific time or give them a unique feeling.
Vibes: People love your vibes and aesthetics. This can be your personality or your environment or some type of design element.
Friend: People want to be your friend and know you.
Inspiration: People want to BE you or know what you know.
Fantasy: You create space for fantasy exploration.
Expertise: You know something and so whenever anyone thinks about that thing, they come to you.
Good Taste: You attract with good taste and curating skills.
Obviously this is just a TINY taste of the different types.
